Bouctouche, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Juliette Girouard, 85, at her residence of Foyer Pauline, in Bouctouche, on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Pius Girouard and the late Edna (Cormier) Girouard.
She leaves to mourn her four children: her three sons Claude Lemay (Elaine) of Saint-Edouard de Kent, Daniel Lemay (Rachelle Breau) of Notre-Dame de Kent and Michel Lemay (Gaëlle), and her daughter, Nathalie Lemay-Landry (late Gilles Landry) of Dieppe.
Her grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kayla, Alex, Jocelyne and Abigail.
As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her family. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Louisa, Tilda, Anise, Gilles, Adélard, and Fred.
Juliette’s warmth and compassion extended far beyond her family. She was a devoted neighbor, a dedicated nurse, and a tireless volunteer. Her nurturing spirit touched countless lives.
For many years, Juliette served as a nurse at the Stella-Maris Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent Hospital. After retiring, her commitment to helping others remained unwavering. She volunteered at the hospital, amassing over 2,400 hours of service. Officially, she may have retired, but she continued to offer support to her neighbors at the Foyer Pauline by sharing her strength, prayers, and quick wit, always ready to lend a listening ear.
Juliette’s love was also expressed through her cooking. Her fresh homemade bread pets de soeurs, and cherry cheesecake were shared with love.
Juliette’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others, rather than the sadness of her passing. They also wish to thank the Foyer Pauline staff, the extra-mural nurses and Dr. Sirois for taking such great care of her throughout the years.
Visitation will be held at the Passage – Maillet, 29 de l’Église Street, Bouctouche, NB, (506) 743-2207on Friday December 20th ,2024 from 9h am to 10h30 am, followed by a private service in the chapel for family and friends at 11h.
Interment in St-Jean-Baptiste Parish Cemetery in the spring, Bouctouche, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care, Stella-Marie-de-Kent Hospital volunteers in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, New Brunswick.
