Karin Larsson, of Dieppe, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, following a courageous battle against cancer. Born in Tracadie on October 20, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Elsie (Coughlan) Larsson.
Her passing leaves a great void in the life of her partner, Kevin Babineau, her best friend and sister-by-choice, Thérèse Thériault and her good friend Dr. Rachel Mallais who was a great comfort throughout her illness. Karin will also be missed by a number of close friends whom she loved deeply and who remained true to her during her time of need.
She will be mourned by her brothers Eric Larsson (Claudia) of Tracadie and Hugo Larsson (Suzanne) of Fredericton, her niece Christina and her nephews Sean and Randy.
Karin was also the beloved niece of Irene Kohr, Brenda Coughlan-Doiron (Omer), Rosemarie Coughlan, Beverley O’Hearn, May (Margaret) Bertrand, Mildred Melanson, Keith Coughlan (Thérèse), Brian Coughlan (Jimena Vergara) and the late Hilarion Coughlan (Pat). She will be fondly remembered by her special cousins with whom she shared many precious moments at her cottage in Pokeshaw where she loved to spend time at the shore either in the water or collecting beach glass.
Karin also had a special place in her heart for Kevin’s parents, Noëlla and Edgar Babineau and his brother, Michael (Lisa) who had so warmly welcomed her into their family.
Always smiling and positive, Karin’s serenity during her illness was exemplary. Never one to wallow in self-pity, she was always preoccupied for those she loved and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
As a testament to her love of animals, she asked that those who wish to send an expression of sympathy do so through donations to the Greater Moncton SPCA.
There will be no funeral by request. The family will greet friends at the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street in Dieppe (857-1901) on Tuesday July 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Karin Larsson, de Dieppe, est décédée paisiblement chez elle le 10 juillet, suivant une courageuse lutte contre le cancer. Née à Tracadie le 20 octobre 1968, elle était la fille de feue Elsie (Coughlan) Larsson.
Son départ laisse un grand vide dans la vie de son conjoint, Kevin Babineau, de sa meilleure amie et sœur de cœur, Thérèse Thériault et de sa bonne amie, la docteure Rachel Mallais qui l’a accompagnée tout au long de sa maladie. Karin manquera également à plusieurs amies proches qu’elle aimait profondément et qui ont été à ses côtés durant toute cette épreuve.
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses frères Eric Larsson (Claudia) de Tracadie et Hugo Larsson (Suzanne) de Fredericton, sa nièce Christina et ses neveux Sean et Randy.
Karin était également la nièce bien aimée de Irene Kohr, Brenda Coughlan-Doiron (Omer), Rosemarie Coughlan, Beverley O’Hearn, May (Margaret) Bertrand, Mildred Melanson, Keith Coughlan (Thérèse), Brian Coughlan (Jimena Vergara) et feu Hilarion Coughlan (Pat). Enfin, elle sera pleurée par ses cousines et cousins avec qui elle a vécu de nombreux moments de bonheur à son chalet de Pokeshaw où elle adorait passer du temps à la plage et ramasser du verre de mer.
Enfin, Karin avait beaucoup d’affection pour ses beaux-parents, Noëlla et Edgar Babineau et son beau-frère, Michael (Lisa) qui l’avaient si chaleureusement accueillie au sein de leur famille.
Toujours souriante et de bonne humeur, Karin a vécu sa maladie avec une sérénité exemplaire. Refusant de s’apitoyer sur son sort, elle s’inquiétait plutôt pour les gens qu’elle aimait et était toujours prête à leur rendre service.
Pour refléter son amour des animaux, elle a demandé qu’au lieu de fleurs, des dons soient faits à la SPCA du Grand Moncton par ceux et celles qui le désirent.
Comme il n’y aura pas de funérailles, la famille recevra les amis à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault à Dieppe (857-1901) le mardi 15 juillet de 19 h à 21 h.
