Kathleen “Kaye” Rafferty

Moncton, NB – Kathleen "Kaye" Rafferty, 83, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015.

Born in, Sussex, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Anastasia Horne (McNaught).

Kaye volunteered for many years with the Open Hand Food Bank. She was a member of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, a former president of the Moncton East Liberal Association, a former president of the Moncton East Women Liberal Association.

Kaye will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Phil Rafferty of Moncton; by her two daughters, Luanne Rafferty and Stacy Rafferty (Jason Myles) both of Moncton; by her two sons, Brian Rafferty (Cathy Carter) and Shawn Rafferty (Andrea) both of Moncton; by her three grandchildren, Erin, Shea, Kyle; by her great grandson, Skyler. She is also survived by a special niece, Doreen Adams; a long-time friend, Dot Donovan; and also by several nieces and nephews.

Kaye was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Helen Archambault, Doreen Adams; by her two brothers, Frank Horne, Bill Horne.

Visitations will be at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (corner West Lane), Moncton, on Thursday, November 26th, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home Friday morning. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Saint Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Friday, November 27th, 2015 at 11:00am with Father Allison S. Carroll officiating.

Donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital, Open Hands Food Bank or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
