Grande-Digue – Laudia Leger, 90, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Prémilia Downing (Gallant).
Laudia will be greatly missed by her husband of 71 years: Emery Leger: her children: Lucille Leger of Caraquet, Rhéal (Sylvia) of Dieppe, Cecile Surette (Charles), Bernard (Lynn), Jean all of Grande-Digue; her grandchildren: Martin (Brigitte), Serge (Gabriella), Carole, Brian (Emilie), Christine (Craig), Wayne, Noëlla (Neil), Jean-Bernard (Stéphanie); her great-grandchildren: Mathis, Gabrielle, Tiago, Mélodie, Ariel, Lucas, Ryan, Mia and Jacob; her sister, Edna Poirier (late Amand) of Shediac Bridge; her two sisters-in-law: Marguerite of Moncton and Anne-Marie of Mass; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Lorette (Aurèle), Lina (Paul), Alice (Léo-Paul); her brothers: Alcide (Jeanne), Léo, Ovila (Thérèse) and Telex.
As a hobby, Laudia loved to make pricked blankets, cooking, gardening and she also loved flowers.
Due to Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination, government ID and mask will be required when entering the church.
As per request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11 am.
Note that due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the church can only operate at 50% of its maximum capacity, which is 125 people.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice.
