Laura Melanson, 98, of Shediac, formerly of Elmwood Drive, Moncton, NB, passed away on Monday, September 3rd, 2012, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center.
Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Ambroise and the late Jeanne (née: Belliveau) Landry.
She is survived by one daughter, Aurea LeBlanc of Scoudouc; four sons: Claude (Léa) of Notre-Dame, Leopold (Jeannine) of Hartford, CT, Omer (Murielle) and Victor, both of Moncton; three daughters-in-law: Jeannita, Marguerite and Elizabeth; one son-in-law, John; two step-sisters: Celina Bourque and Catherine Richard, both of Dieppe; three half-brothers: Albion (Geraldine) Gaudet, Ulysse Gaudet, both of Dieppe and Alyre Gaudet of Cap Pele; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her step-father, Willie Gaudet; her husband, Leo J. Melanson in 1994; one son, Adrien; two brothers: Leo and Alfred; two step-sisters: Dorilla and Lorraine and also by two step-brothers: Gerard and Camille.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB, on Friday, September 7th, 2012 at 10:30 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation “oncology” would be appreciated by the family.

Outre ses parents, son beau-père, Willie Gaudet; son époux, Leo J. Melanson en 1994; un fils, Adrien; deux frères: Leo et Alfred; deux belles-soeurs:Dorilla et Lorraine, ainsi que deux beaux-frères: Gerard et Camille l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le jeudi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, Moncton, N.-B.,
le vendredi 7 septembre, 2012, à 10h30.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire, à Dieppe, N.-B.
Un don à la Fondation Hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont « Oncologie » serait apprécié par la famille.
