Laurie Després, 71, of Bouctouche passed away suddenly at his residence, on Wednesday March 14, 2018. He was married to the late Jeannette (Allain) Després. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Judith (Saulnier) Després.
Laurie was employed with the Irving Department Store followed by Home Hardware for a number of years. He was a volunteer firefighter for 41 years.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters; Chantale Després (Alex Valery) of Montreal, Natasha Després (Kalyn Galloway) of Moncton, his grandchildren; Maëlle and Zève, four sisters; Viola Collette (Emery), Stella Savoie (Jean), Elva McFadden (Jimmy), Geraldine Robichaud (Donald Richard) , two brothers; Hervé (late Pauline) , Roger all of Bouctouche and several nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l`église, Bouctouche, on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 7 to 9pm and on Monday from 12:30 to 1:45pm. The funeral Mass will be held in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, on Monday March 19, 2018 at 2:00pm.
In Laurie`s memory a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation, Oncology department.
