Laurie Gosselin, 77, of Dieppe, passed away on Saturday, June 9th, 2007 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital after a short courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.
Born in Saint-Paul-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Henri and the late Mélina (née: LeBlanc) Gosselin.
Mr Gosselin had retired from CCNB in Dieppe with 10 years of service, had previously been employed by Le Journal Evangeline for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 6796 and the Club d’Age d’Or of Dieppe and a parishioner of Ste-Thérèse R.C.C.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alta (née: LeBlanc); four children: Roger (Paulette), Paul (Yvette), Normand (Claudette) and Dianne (Robert) Richard, all of Dieppe; three brothers: Albénie of Dieppe, Aimée (Florence) of Gardner, Mass and Gérald (Dora) of Moncton; nine grandchildren: Sylvie (Mike), Melanie, Julien, Gilles, Denis, Luc, Patrick, Marc and Justin as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parent, he was predeceased by five sisters: Ida, Alfreda, Elmire, Soeur Carmilla and Hermine; two brothers: Aurèle and Aimée and also by one granddaughter, Julie.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Tuesday, June 12th, 2007, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7pm to 9 pm and also on Wednesday from 10 am until time of service.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Ste-Thérère Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday, June 13th, 2007, at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (Oncology) would be appreciated.
