Cocagne, NB – Laurie Richard, 84, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, February 8, 2016.
Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Pascal and Amanda (Goguen) Richard.
Laurie will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Élizabeth; his four sons, Jean-Guy (Marlene) of Vermillion, South Dakota, USA, Maurice (Murielle) of Notre-Dame, Marcel of Moncton, Michel of Cocagne; his two daughters, Gisèle Richard of Cocagne and Thérèse Richard (Lise) of Grande-Digue; his two brothers, Arthur (Eva) of Dieppe and Adélard (late Lorraine) of Shediac; his sister, Ethel Fougère (late Robert) of Shediac; his six grandchildren, Tim, Donna, Gabrielle, Fiona, Cédric and Pierre; his two great grandchildren, Nathan and Austin; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Henri, Léandre and Lionel; four sisters, Eva, Léa, Doris and Florence.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 9 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be held at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11 am. Reception will follow at the Golden Age Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, “Boîte à Lunch de l’école Donat Robichaud” or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
