MacDougall Settlement, NB – Laurie Williams, 87, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton after a lengthy illness.
Born in MacDougall Settlement NB, he was the son of Alyre and the late Arthémise (nee LeBlanc) Williams.
Laurie worked for Lockhart Lumber for 35 years as a transport driver. He enjoyed working in his garden and flowers.
Laurie will be sadly missed by his wife, Anita Williams (nee LeBlanc); his two daughters, Norma Cormier (Leonard), Pauline Poirier (Reginald) both of Dieppe; by his two brothers, Lionel Williams (Dora) of Shediac, Jean-Paul Williams (Rosella) of Shediac River; by his three sisters, Aline Gagnon (late Félix) of Montreal QC, Claudette Caissie (late Joseph) of Cocagne, Jeannita Bourgeois (late Clarence) of Grande Digue; by his two sisters-in-law, Marie Anne and Lucia; by his three grandchildren, Roland, Donny, Matthieu and one great granddaughter, Aimée.
Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by his three sisters, Émilia, Rita and Auréa; his two brothers, Léonard and Paul-Emile.
By his request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private funeral service was held at Passage Funeral Chapel. Interment took place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation, Oncology department or Cardiology department would be appreciated by the family.
