Shediac (formerly of Grande-Digue), NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mrs. Laurina Donelle, 92. She passed away peacefully at Villa Providence in Shediac on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
Laurina was a teacher in her younger days and then worked at different restaurants over the years. In her past time, she was an avid reader, loved knitting and quilting.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, she was the daughter of the late Aquila Léger and the late Zélica Cormier.
Laurina will be sadly missed by her children: Dorothy White (John) of Moncton, Camilla Donelle, Linda Gaudet (Ron) both of Dieppe, Gilles (Yvette) and Bertin (Gina) both of Grande-Digue; her brother: Léandre (late Lorraine) of Shediac; her sister: Ozélie Caissie (late Raoul) of Grande-Digue; her sister-in-law: Annette of Dieppe; her grandchildren: Allan (Vicky), Marc (Bonnie), Julien (Sylvie), Rémi (France), Kevin (Janel), Marc (Brandon), Marcel (Josée), Luc (Mylène) and Nadine (Kenny); her great grandchildren: Tessa, Arlo, Samara, Mila, Kyra, Adèle, James, Laurence, Élyse and Emma; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband: Edgar; her stepmother: Ida Babineau; her sister: Doris (Pierre); her brother: Alcide Léger.
Visitation will be held at Passage-Funeral Cooperative (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, 506-532-1050) on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm until time of funeral chapel at 7pm.
In memory of Laurina, a donation can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, “Pépére Boîte à Lunch” or to a charity of your choice.
A special thanks to the staff of Villa Providence for the excellent care given to Laurina during her stay at the home.
