Shediac – To all cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and all who knew her, this is to inform you that we have lost a person who was dear to us all: Léona (LeBlanc) Bourgeois left us on March 4 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre after a beautiful life of 91 years.
She was kind, gentle, loving …full of love like her sisters, Thérèse, Camilla, Phyllis and Juliette and her brothers Léo, Joseph and Émile.
No doubt, that came from their mother Arzélie, who was loving towards everyone and loved by everyone. Their first father, Edmond LeBlanc, who died in his early forties, was of the same stock according to their memories of him. With their second father, Ovila LeBlanc and his children: Aimé, Marie-Thérèse, Alphonsine, Rita, Jean, Gérard, Noël, Marguerite, Olive …they made a beautiful family.
Léona and her husband, Gérard Bourgeois, adopted me when I was three months old. This act of love was one of many gifts that they gave me.
My mother was a person who gave, inspired and shared wherever she went.
For those who wish to pay their last respects to Léona, there will be a service at the Passage Chapel in Shediac Bridge on Friday, March 9 at 1:30 pm.
We leave you with this beautiful anonymous quote that Léona would surely appreciate:
“Do not cry for the one you are losing but be happy to have known her”.
