Léona Richard
1932 ~ 2024

Moncton, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Léona Richard, 91, that occurred on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at the Faubourg du Mascaret, Pavillon Richard in Moncton.

Born in Notre-Dame, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edmond Babineau and the late Eugenie (Cormier) Babineau.

Leona worked at the Glass Factory in Scoudouc until her retirement.

Leona will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Diane Richard (Dean Mokler) of Moncton, and Claudette Desharnais (Garn) of Irishtown; her son, Maurice (Carole) of Dieppe; her sister, Cécile Ward; her brothers: Hervé (Marie), and Yvon; her grandchildren: Allie, and Chad; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Aimé Richard (2022); her three sisters: Thérèse, Florine, and Anita; as well as her six brothers: Aurèle, Ernest, Alcide, Léo, Oscar, and Gerard.

Visitation will be held from Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901, on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, from 9 to 11 am, followed by a funeral service at 11am in the Passage Funeral Chapel on the same day.
