It is with profound sadness that the family of Leonard LeBlanc announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, October 31st, at the age of 80. Born in Moncton, NB to Aline (Cormier) LeBlanc and the late Arthur LeBlanc.

Mr. LeBlanc had worked for C.N.R. for 32 years. Throughout his years, he served as President of Dieppe Minor Hockey, President of the St. Anselme Golden Age Club, President of NB Senior Citizens Federation.


He loved to go on Sunday drives, especially the drives that he took to Florida over the years with his wife. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family and playing cards, especially 45 and crib.

He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Benoite (Bourgeois) LeBlanc of Dieppe.
He is survived by his mother, Aline (Cormier) LeBlanc; his two sons: Luc (Sonya) from Halifax, N.S. and Julien (Keara) from Riverview, as well as his beloved grandson, Jonah from Riverview. 

He is also survived by his five siblings: Fernande Powell, Pierrette Roussel (Yves), Jocelyne Landry (late Jean-Claude Boudreau), Nicole LeBlanc, all of Dieppe, NB and Denise Martin (Greg) of Aulac, NB; his two brothers-in-law: Bernard Bourgeois (Roberte), and Dollard Bourgeois (Noreen); his sister-in-law, Corinne Geddes (Bill); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901) on Wednesday, November 5th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. only. Funeral mass will be held at the St-Anselme RC Church, 1014 Amirault Street, Dieppe, on Thursday, November 6th, at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.


The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Marc-Andre Leblond, nurses at extra mural, and the staff of 3D at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont hospital for their care of Mr. LeBlanc.


Donations in his memory to the Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

  6. My sincere condolences to the Leblanc Family on Len’s passing. I worked with Len at Gordon Yard Car shop and as Timekeeper we had a good relationship.
    We have kept in touch over the years and I talked to Len late summer.
    Memories will not go away, May he RIP🙏

  13. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the extended LeBlanc family. Leonard was a great man. I remember him from way back in the 80’s. Was always willing to put on the umpires gear and help out with kids games. He and his wife raised two great boys. Julien was one of my great friends growing up.

    My heart goes out to them all.
    May he always rest in peace.

  30. Thinking of the LeBlanc family during this difficult time. I have many fond memories of Leonard from my younger days around the hockey rink and from when we worked together at the Irving service station on Champlain Street. He was a good man who will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
