Lionel Caissie, 69, of Moncton, NB, passed away on Monday, June 25th, 2012, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Frederic and the late Marie Collette (née: Goguen) Caissie.

Mr. Caissie had retired from the City of Dieppe, as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Della; four children: Bernadette (Travis) West, Darryl (Lisa) Caissie, Denise (Mike) Caissie and Colleen (Paul) Dupuis; six grandchildren: Nathan, Caleb, Angelina, Jayda, Jesse and Ava; seven brothers: Paul (late Evelyn) Caissie, Omer (Lena) Caissie, Raymond (late Myrna) Caissie, Gerry (late Gloria) Caissie, John (Karen) Caissie, Yvon (Barb) Caissie and Donald (Marilyn) Caissie; two sisters: Eva Leger and Rita (Al) Hoffman; sister-in-law, Millie Caissie; brother-in-law, Albert Cormier; his best friend, Eddy Caissie; his ever faithful furry companion, Buddy, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Lionel was predeceased by one brother, Edgar and also by two sisters: Freda and Dora.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 9 am until time of service.

Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, June 29th, 2012 at 10 am.

Interment at Our-Lady-of-Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.

Au Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le lundi 25 juin, 2012, après une longue et courageuse lutte contre le cancer, à l’âge de 69 ans est décédé Lionel Caissie. Il demeurait à Moncton, N.-B.

 Né à Moncton, N.-B., il était fils de feu Frederic et de feu Marie Collette (née: Goguen) Caissie.

M. Caissie avait travaillé comme opérateur d’équipement lourd avant de prendre sa retraite de la Ville de Dieppe.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Della; quatre enfants: Bernadette (Travis) West, Darryl (Lisa) Caissie, Denise (Mike) Caissie et Colleen (Paul) Dupuis; six petits-enfants: Nathan, Caleb, Angelina, Jayda, Jesse et Ava; sept frères: Paul (feu Evelyn) Caissie, Omer (Lena) Caissie, Raymond (feu Myrna) Caissie, Gerry (feu Gloria) Caissie, John (Karen) Caissie, Yvon (Barb) Caissie et Donald (Marilyn) Caissie; deux soeurs: Eva Leger et Rita (Al) Hoffman; une belle-soeur, Millie Caissie; un beau-frère, Albert Cormier; un grand ami, Eddy Caissie; son compagnon à quatre pattes, Buddy, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et de nombreux amis.

Outre ses parents, un frère, Edgar ainsi que deux soeurs: Freda et Dora l’ont précédé dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le jeudi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le vendredi de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.

Les funérailles auront lieu en la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, le vendredi 29 juin, 2012, à 10h.

L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire, à Dieppe, N.-B.

Un don à l’Association Canadienne du Cancer serait apprécié par la famille.
