Moncton, NB – It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Lionel Joseph Dupuis on July 7th, 2022, at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 69 years old.
Lionel was born in Moncton, NB on August 10th, 1952, he was the son of the late Alverie and the late Aline (Hebert) Dupuis.
Lionel was a very kindhearted man and passionate animal lover at his former hobby farm in Irishtown. He was a hard worker, he spent 30 years of his working career with CN Engineering as a Track Maintainer and retired as General Extra Gang Foreman in the Atlantic Region. Prior he was employed for several years at Ben’s Bakery as a shipper. A proud member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Lionel is survived by his special friend, Brenda Steeves; his son, Sean (Kim); his sister, Roberta Savoie (Leo-Paul); his brothers, Roger (Annette) of Memramcook and Jean (Monique) of Dieppe; his granddaughters, Laurel and Ailsa; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Lionel was predeceased by his ex-wife, Patricia.
In memory of Lionel, visitation will be held from Passage Funeral Chapel of Moncton (625, Mountain Rd) on Friday, July 15th, 2022, from 6pm until 8pm. The Celebration of his life will be held the day after Saturday, July 16th, 2022, at 11am. There will be no visitation prior to the Celebration of his life.
In memory of Lionel, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Boys Club of Moncton would be appreciated by the family.
