Lionel Savoie

Cocagne – Lionel Savoie, 93, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 9th, 2011, after a brief illness.
 
Born in St-Maurice, on August 22nd, 1918, he was the son of the late Maxime and Jeanne (Arseneau) Savoie.
 
Lionel was a very hard worker. He was a second world war veteran and very proud to have served his country.
 
Lionel will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Rosalie (Richard); his two sons, Bernard (Linda) of Cocagne, Rhéal (Christine) of St-Antoine; his three daughters, Simonne Cormier (Jean-Paul) of Cocagne, Claudette (Bill) and Jeanita Goguen (Yvon) both of Moncton; his sister, Juliette LeBlanc (late Edgar) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; his four grandchildren, Chantal, Carole, Monique, Engelle; and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Maxim; also several nieces and nephews.
 
He was predeceased by one son, Yvon (1970); five brothers, Albert, Joseph, Hector, Aquila, Désiré; six sisters, Albina, Marie, Emilienne, Laudia, Sister Exelda and Joséphine.
 
Visitations will be held at the St. Pierre de Cocagne slumber room on Sunday, December 11th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be at St. Pierre de Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne on Monday, December 12th  at 4 pm. No visitations on Monday.
 
Donation to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
