Lira Prudhomme, 97, of Villa du Repos, Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, June 18th, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Prudhomme spent the last 27 years of her life in Dieppe. Born in St. Lucia, West Indies, she was the daughter of the late Walter and the late Irene (née: Zepherin) Augustin.
She is survived by three daughters: Myrna (Irwin) Hippolyte of New York City, Linda (Sylvester) Charlery and Septima (Paris) Joseph, both of St. Lucia; four sons: Keith Preudhomme of Boynton Beach, FL, Thomas (Jacinta) Augustin of St. Croix, Kurt Augustin of Miami, FL and Desimil “Charlie” (Rose) Chalmessin of Dieppe; one son-in-law, Francis Leonce of St. Lucia; two brothers: Raleigh Augustin of St. Lucia and Donald Augustin of U.K.; 32 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Shirley Leonce in 2001.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from 9: 30 am until time of service. Funeral will be celebrated at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007 at 10: 30 am.
Interment in St. Lucia, West Indies. Donations to her grandson, Stephen Joseph who is living day to day with a brain tumor would be appreciated by the family.
