Lise Gionet (Born Gauthier)
November 14, 1941 – August 1, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Lise Gionet announces her passing on August 1, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born in Quebec City on November 14, 1941, Lise grew up in Shippagan, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents, Dominique Gauthier and Lorette Gauthier (née LeBlanc).

She was the eldest of four children and is survived by her siblings, Louis-Marie, Jacques and Luce-Andrée.

Lise was also predeceased by her husband, Lionel Gionet. She leaves behind her son, Frédéric Gionet, and his wife, Josette Melanson.

A graduate of Collège Notre-Dame d’Acadie, Lise began her professional life as a nurse. She later chose to leave nursing to devote herself fully to being a dedicated mother, a role she embraced with love and commitment.

Lise spent her adult life in the Greater Moncton area, living for most of those years in the city of Dieppe, a community she loved deeply.

She had a love of adventure and especially enjoyed going for walks. She also had a remarkable ability to connect with animals of every kind, forming bonds with them that often seemed effortless and instinctive.

Since 2019, Lise had been a resident of Villa du Repos. Her family extends its heartfelt thanks to the entire staff for the kindness, compassion and wonderful support they provided to her throughout the years.

In keeping with Lise’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or formal memorial. Those who knew her are encouraged to remember her in their own way and to share their fond memories of her whenever they feel moved to do so.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Fondation CHU Dumont.
