Lorenzo Caissie, 84, of Residence du Marais, formerly of Gauvin Rd. Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in Shippagan, NB, he was the son of the late Eugene and the late Julie (née: Caissie) Caissie.
Mr. Caissie served with both the North Shore and Carleton-York regiments of the army during WW II. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and was also a member of the Legion branch # 6 and the Dieppe War Veterans.
He is survived by two daughters: Stella (Edward) Gauvin of St. Petersburg, FL and Linda (Alyre) Cormier of Dieppe; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Caissie was predeceased by his wife Regina in 2005; one son, Roger; three sisters: Stella, Yvonne and Josephine; five brothers: Eugene, Edouard, Antoine, Arthur and Steven and also by one great grandson.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901 on Sunday, February 4th, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Monday from 9 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Monday, February 5th, 2005 at 10 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
A legion service will be held on Sunday at 3:45 pm.
