Born in Chartersville (now Dieppe), she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques LeBlanc (Mathilda Robinson) and the wife of the late Joseph Oswald Melanson.
She attended classes at St. Anselme Convent School.
During WWII, she went to work in a war plant in Pickering near Ajax, Ontario for 3 months. Returned home and worked at Eaton’s and J.D. Creaghan Department Store and then worked again at Eaton’s Highfield Square.
She is survived by her children: Linda of Ottawa, John of Dieppe and Josette of Moncton; her grandchildren: Jay Bujold of Moncton, Jinette McCormack of Riverview, Johnathan Melanson, Katie Melanson and Danielle Melanson, all of Dieppe; her great-grandson, Jax McCormack of Riverview and his great-granddaughter, Mila LeBlanc of Dieppe.
Predeceased by six brothers: Ligouri, Ernest, Arthur, Valmond (died in Holland during the war), William (Bill) and Jacob and also by three sisters: Marguerite Boucher of Waltham, Mass., Dolores Lemoine of Ottawa and Iona Bryant of Moncton.
No visitation or funeral.
