It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lucille Babin of Dieppe on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Residence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur at the age of 95. She joins her parents, Éloi Melanson and Julie Arsenault; her husband Raymond Babin; her children Denis and Angela; her granddaughter Isabelle and her sisters and brothers: Éloïse, Honoré, Léonard, Yvon, Imelda, Ola and Léonce.
Settling with her young family on Beauséjour Street in Dieppe in 1952, the energy of this multi-talented woman from Scoudouc was quickly discovered. Over the years, several community organizations have recognized her commitment. In 2016, at the age of 88, she was also honoured by the Dieppe City Council for her many years of service to the less fortunate. But also for her involvement in the Catholic Women’s League and the Dieppe Golden Age Club.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Raymonde (Jean-Guy Babineau); Fernand (Patricia Bourque); Gertrude (Arthur Gauvin); Joanne (Clément Arsenault); her daughter-in-law Kathleen Babin; her brothers and sisters: Juliette Côté, Angelo Melanson (Yolande), Alphonse Melanson (Germaine), Annette MacEachern and Gracia Chiasson, as well as her sisters-in-law Hélèna Melanson, Rita Boudreau and Lucille Babin, and many nieces and nephews. As well, she will continue to watch over her 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at Sainte-Thérèse Church, 457 Acadie Avenue, Dieppe, on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our-Lady-of-Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
Donations in Lucille’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

Je veux vous offrir toutes mes sympathies pour le décès de votre chère mère et grande-mère. Je me souviens bien d’elle comme fille grandissant tout près de chez vous sur la rue Champlain. Mdme Babin était une femme souriante et douce.
Que ces qques mots vs apportent un peu de comfort en ce temps difficile.
