It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marc Roy Cormier announce his sudden passing, on Thursday April 7th, at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, following a brief illness, with his wife Elaine, and daughters Alisha and Melanie at his bedside.
Marc was born in Moncton, September 15, 1960, and remained here until his move with wife and family, to Mississauga, Ontario, in 1991. After his 25 years in the textile industry, he later found his passion in the Real Estate industry.
In 2016, he and his wife Elaine returned to Moncton to retire, allowing them to reconnect with family and friends.
Marc was an accomplished musician, and gifted vocalist. He played in numerous bands during his lifetime, including Summer Heat, Saxons, Mankado, and Stonebridge. He will be forever remembered for his passion in whatever he took interest in, including the love for his family, music, cars and friendships.
Marc is predeceased by his parents Roy Cormier and Muriel (nee Collette), and survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Elaine (nee Knott), daughters Alisha (Steve), Melanie (Mathew), brother Pierre (Laura), sister Bernice (Paul), and granddaughter Kaelyn.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Monday April 11 from 6 pm to 7 pm followed by a celebration of his life from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel.
The family would like to thank the medical team at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, along with the Palliative Care Unit, and Dr Patrice Landry, for the exceptional care and support that was provided during his time in hospital, as well as the loving support of family and friends during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation “Palliative Care Unit” or the Alzheimer’s Society.
