Important update: Due to current weather, Funeral Mass is postponed to tomorrow morning, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 9 am.
Moncton, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marc (Joseph Robert) LeBlanc, 61, of Moncton, NB. Marc passed away suddenly at his home, on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Although born in Sherbrooke, QC, he grew up in Moncton and was the son of Joann (née Dysart) and the late Hubert LeBlanc.
Marc will be sadly missed by his mother, Joann; his siblings: Catherine Dallaire (John), Michael LeBlanc (Susan), Nathalie Olivier (Jaco) and Julie LeBlanc Steeves (Don); his nephews and nieces: Zachary and Margo Dallaire, Jacob and Caleb LeBlanc, Izak and Georges Olivier, Hubert and Adeleine Steeves and also by many loving and caring friends.
Marc had a generous heart, a brilliant sense of humour, and a mischievous character that made him a force of nature. To say he knew a lot of people would be an understatement. He knew everyone, and everyone knew him, and he considered them all as friends. He was the architect of many wild adventures and if you were lucky enough to take part, and come away upright and smiling, you had a memorable story to share forever.
An artist, a lover of music and plants, a collector and an innovator, Marc was happiest when sharing his creative projects. In his younger years, you could find Marc waterskiing on Cocagne Bay with his all-time best friend, his father, or cruising with friends in his Dodge Demon here in New Brunswick or with his beloved cousins in la Baie Sainte-Marie.
Marc never left the ‘80s. He lived life like a rockstar, a showman, a comedian. And, although his body couldn’t keep up, for us he will be forever a 20-year-old. Marc had a positive impact on everyone he met with his welcoming, humble, loving, and trusting personality. The adventures and misadventures Marc lived would fill volumes and we have enjoyed even more stories in recent days.
The family wishes to sincerely thank all of his dear and loyal friends for their lifetime of kindness, love and support. You were cherished by Marc and will forever be appreciated by us.

Joann and the Leblanc clan,
To stand out among such a witty and gregarious brood you have to be a very unique and special person, this was Marc, generous and kind of spirit, a born entertainer who lit up the world like a firecracker. I have many beautiful and funny memories of witnessing in awe his monologues and shenanigans at the family home on Mont Royal, unforgettable. I was so pained to learn of Marc’s passing this week and I share in your grief; you are all in my thoughts and in my prayers. May your faith bring you some comfort and God’s mercy bless the entire family during this very sad and difficult time.

My condolences Joann to you and the family.
I knew Marc for his entire life. His mother, my cousin Joann, was always a family favourite. For a youngster growing up in Toronto, it was a highlight of every summer to visit our Cocagne relatives. Uncle Ally, Marc’s grandfather, was a larger-than-life man who included everyone in his enormous bonhomie. My Aunt Catherine would greet you like you had just been there the day before and before you finished saying hello was offering you something delicious to eat. Joann inherited her parents’ wonderfully generous, outgoing and hugely entertaining personalities. Her husband Hubert was blessed with his own exuberant Acadian vitality. And I am glad to say they passed on this great joie de vivre to their own children. None more so than to Marc. In the 62 years that I had the pleasure to know him, no matter our age difference or relatively infrequent encounters, he never once failed to have a smile and something pleasant to say. The world could use a lot more Marc Leblancs. May he rest in peace. May his family remember only the good times.
