Dieppe, N.-B – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcel Chenard, that occurred on February 3, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital at the age of 67.

Born in Tracadie, he was the son of the late Gerard Chenard and the late Roseline (Berthe) Chenard.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Jeannette (Belliveau) Chenard; his two sons: Daniel (Annette) Melanson of Moncton and Luc (Monique) Melanson of Dieppe; his daughter, Carole (Denis) Chiasson of Memramcook; his cherished grandchildren: Ashley, Sébastien, Danika, Gabrielle, Crystal, Olivier, Vanessa and Oceanne; his brother, Bernard (Denise) Chenard of Grande-Digue; his sister, Gisèle (Vernon) Price of Moncton; his sisters-in-law: Debbie, Bernadette, Eileen and Lucille as well as several nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his four brothers: Vincent, Conrad, Jean-Claude and Roger.

  4. Jeannette. So sorry to hear of Marcel’s passing. My sympathies to you and your family. I met Marcel when I joined Imperial Oil in 1999 and we immediately became friends. We did a lot of training together and told many lies over lunches. He was a good friend.

  5. Jeannette and family. I am so sorry for your loss of such a great man. He helped me a lot during my career at Exxon. He always talked about how he loved his family! I had a chance to meet up again in Marcel’s new career where he worked with my husband. One valuable life lesson he taught me was to never stop dating your husband/wife. He taught me to love myself and to take care of my health. Marcel made a difference in my life and I will never forget him. Rest in peace my friend.

  6. I had the privilege of working with Marcel as well, everyone knew him as a kind and caring man – he always took time and showed interest in everyone he met. Very sad to hear that he has passed away, my sincere condolences to his family.
