Dieppe – It is with sadness, that the family of Marcel Dufort, announces his passing, on Friday, January 7th, 2022, at the Dr-Georges-L-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Originally from Boucherville, QC, he was the son of the late Adela (Lapointe) and the late Edmond Dufort.
He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Claudette (Gautreau) in 2019.
He is survived by his two daughters: Charlotte Dufort (Ghislain Maltais) and Nancy Dufort (Bill Bourque); his three grandchildren and the stars of his Heart: William and Nicholas Bourque and Véronique Maltais; several brothers and sisters: the late Léonne (Avila) Raymond, Maurice Dufort (Marie-Paule), Pauline (late René) Vallée, Gisèle (John) Matthews, Mireille Dufort (Marcel Ouellet), Paul-Aimé and Julie Cadieux (Lapointe), late Julien Cadieux (Marlène), Yvon and Marjolaine Cadieux, Louise and Yves Laurent Beloeil, Bernard Cadieux; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rose (late Robert) Léger, Francis and Norma LeBlanc, as well as several nephews and nieces.
Before his retirement, Mr. Dufort was a banker with the Fédérations des Caisse-Populaire Acadienne. He was president of the parish council, member of the Sainte-Thérèse parish and of the Regis LeBlanc residence committee.
Note that due to Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination, government ID, mask will be required, funeral home and church can only operate at 50% capacity.
No visitation prior to service.
Funeral mass will be held from Sainte-Thérèse RC Church, Dieppe, on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022, at 11 am.
