Marcel R. LeBlanc

Shediac River, NB – Marcel Roger LeBlanc, 59, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital in Moncton, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, February 19, 2015.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of Odule and Anita LeBlanc (nee Bourque) of Shediac.

For 35 years, Marcel was a line operator / distribution, shipping and receiving at Constellation Brands prior to his retirement in 2012 due to illness. For 25 years Marcel helped with the Lobster Festival in Shediac serving as President, Director and as a volunteer. Marcel was honored by the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of the Year for his community involvement. He was involved with the Shediac Lobster Festival, the Shediac Winter Carnival, Shediac Lions Club, Canoe Club; he was also involved with minor hockey as a coach. He was a Paul Harris Recipient from the Shediac Rotary Club. He was also honored with the New Brunswick Day Merit Awards.

Besides his parents, Marcel is survived by his wife, Lucille Maillet-LeBlanc of Shediac River; by his son, Joshua Haché (Sarah) of Shediac River; by his sister, Louise LeBlanc of Shediac; by his two brothers, Jean-Guy (Antoinette), Paul (Hélène) all of Shediac; he is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Monday morning. Funeral mass will be held at the La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
