In Loving Memory Of
Marie P. Allard
1939-2026

Dieppe – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Marie P. Allard (nee Savoie-LeBlanc). She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her friend Christine (Kitty) at her home on September 26, 2026.  Born in Eel River Crossing, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bélonie LeBlanc (Nouvelle, Gaspésie) and the late Hélène Savoie (McKendrick, NB).

Acadian at heart, our mother passed on to us a love of the French language.  She was a woman of remarkable courage and strength. Whether she worked for the development of Acadia as coordinator of the New Brunswick National Policy Convention (1979), for the cause of single mothers or for the equality of linguistic communities in Atlantic Canada at the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, she always fought to make society a better place.

Our mother was passionate about arts and culture. She loved live entertainment, musical theatre, opera, classical music, high-quality films, and she had a penchant for works of art by Acadian artists. She loved to travel and learn about other cultures. She will finally be able to live pain-free by sipping a little sparkling wine and watching over us all.

She is survived by her daughters: Sylvie (Noël Cyr) of Upper Kingsclear and Sophie (Guy Louiseize) of Moncton, her special friend Kitty (Christine Clercy), her siblings: Fernande (late Graydon Whalen) of Eel River Crossing, Marie-Ange (late Bob Bertrand) of Montreal, Roland, Irma (Joseph Chan) of Châteauguay, Jean-Claude (Linda Gorayeb) of Ottawa, Monique (late Roland Pitre) of Eel River Crossing and Anne-Marie (Greg Yorke) of Five Islands, Nova Scotia, her grandchildren: Mélanie, Mathieu, Christian, Isabelle, Rémi, Marilyne, Vanessa, Katia, and her greatgrandchildren: Zakary, Mia, Jules, Hugo, Arthur, Évangéline and Émeric; many nieces and nephews as well as friends to whom she was very attached.

Predeceased by her daughter Brigitte, her parents Bélonie and Hélène, her motherin-law Rose-Aimée, her brother Paul-Émile, her sisters little Fernande, Yvette, MarieClaire, Lise-Martine, her granddaughter, Natasha and her great-grandson Sasha.

As per her wishes, she will not have a visitation or funeral service.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Leroux for the good care provided during the last ten years of our mother’s life.
