MARIO TAURIAN

Mario Taurian, a long time resident of Moncton, NB died suddenly on Tuesday the 8th of November at the age of 88.

Born in Paris, France, Mario moved back to his ancestral city of Zoppola, Italy at an early age where he would go on to proudly serve in the military following WW2. He immigrated to Belgium in the 1950’s to work in the coal mines and in the early ’60’s moved to Toronto where he initiated work as a tradesman. In the mid ‘60s Mario moved to the Maritimes where he later met and married Caterina (Corazza) Toffolo and lived a happy and fulfilling life. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and naturalist. He loved to entertain family and friends with colourful stories and hilarious jokes. His eyes would gleam and his smile would shine in the company of family, friends and good food.

Mario is survived by a son, Daniele and grandson, Davide and a step-daughter, Bruna Caracristi (Paul).

He was predeceased by his wife, Caterina and his step-son, Robert Toffolo.

A service will take place Saturday, November 19th at 11 am from St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Botsford St., Moncton, NB.

Family flowers only. Memorial tributes may be made in Mario’s name to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
