Marion Scully

MONCTON – It is with great sadness we announce the death of Marion Scully at her residence, The Briarlea, on Monday, October 7, 2013.

Marion was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Mary (Thomson) and George MacLeod. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband John Patrick Scully in 1994.

Those close to Marion were touched by her thoughtfulness as she reached out frequently in small acts of kindness. Marion is survived by her children Pat Mallory (late Richard) of Saint John, Michael (Ella) of Toronto, John (Jane) of Riverview, Kathleen Whalen (John) of Halifax, Mary Ann Jeffries (Michael) of Moncton, and Tom (Karen) of Riverview, as well as 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Beatrice Scully of Hampton, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Teresa Bishop of Bathurst, son-in-law Gene Bishop, and son-in-law Richard Mallory, and also by her sisters Annabelle Smith, Jessie Mawhinney, Georgina Lang and Marion MacLeod (in infancy) and her brothers Murdoch MacLeod and John MacLeod.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Dufour, Dr. Sheehan, and the staff of The Briarlea for taking such good care of Mom. 

Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton on Friday, October 11th, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and from 7:00 – 9:00pm, there will be no visitation at the funeral chapel on Saturday morning. Funeral service will be held at St. Augustine’s RC Church, 340 Dominion corner Mountain Road, Moncton on Saturday, October 12th, 2013 at 10:00am. 

If so desired, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to Birthright or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
