In Loving Memory Of
Marjorie Randall
1921 ~ 2024

Marjorie (DeeDee) Randall, 102, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in Moncton NB, she was the daughter of the late Francis (Frank) and Inez (McCray) Leger.

As a young woman, Marjorie worked as a cosmetician in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon returning to Moncton and marrying she hosted boarders for many years while raising her family. She was an entrepreneur having owned and operated 3 businesses: Mac’s Variety Store, the Coffee Pot Restaurant, and The Doggie Boutique. Grooming and breeding dogs (poodles) was her passion which she pursued until retirement.

Marjorie had a zest for life and was a social person. She loved animals, country music, the beach, walking, and travelling. She had a tremendous love for her family and was especially close with her great grandchildren. She was a member of Highfield Baptist Church and Pearl Rebekah Lodge # 9. Marjorie could be seen walking all over town well into her late eighties. She was a talented seamstress, knitter, and avid crafter having made clothing, costumes, needlepoints, hats, mittens, and many sweaters (particularly Mary Maxims in the 70s & 80s). She had a green thumb and kept a yard, plants, and gardens that would rival some of the best. She had a great sense of humour that remained unwavering even into her final days.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband: Kenneth in 1971. She is survived by her daughter: Darlene (Gisele Sonier): granddaughter, Michelle Murchison (Shawn); 3 great grandchildren: Jake, Nate, and Eden; and a sister: Vivian Keating.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters: Anne Edgett, Irene Goodwin, and Roberta McDonald; her brothers: Francis, Hector, William (Bill) and Herbert (Herby), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. As per Marjorie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Kenneth at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

  1. I have thought of Marjorie many times since I left the Highfield Street YMCA back in 2003. Marjorie always, always had a smile for everyone. She really was a bright light in my day.
    Deepest condolences Michelle. Xo

  2. My deepest condolences Darlene and family in Dee Dee’s passing. A lot of memories over the years to cherish between the family times we all had. May Dee Dee RIP in God’s kingdom with all the Leger family that has passed.

  3. Our condolences to you Michelle,Shawn, Jake, Nate and Eden. Lovely obituary. Marjorie was a very talented, passionate and ambitious woman. She saw lots in her lifetime and her memory will remain with you forever.

  4. My condolences Darlene and family. Having great memories from growing up in the ‘old west end’, I only knew your Mom as Mrs. Randall; we only called our friends parents Mr. or Mrs. I remember your Mom and Michelle coming into the Times and Transcript to pickup Michelle’s newspapers. Great memories. Take care.
