In Loving Memory Of
Maurice Bourque
1941 - 2026

Shediac, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Bourque, 85, of Shediac and formerly of Scoudouc, on Monday, August 17th, 2026, less than a year after losing his beautiful wife, Rose-Marie, on September 11th, 2025.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that after eleven months apart, they are peacefully reunited in the arms of our Lord.

Born in Scoudouc, he was the son of the late Albénie and the late Velma (Gaudet) Bourque.

Maurice worked for many years at West-Wood Industries Inc, where he developed his passion and love for working with wood. He had his own little woodworking shed, filled with his tools and projects, where he spent countless hours creating things with his hands. He especially enjoyed making decorative wooden snowmen, Christmas outdoor stockings, and other seasonal decorations. His little shed was a special place where his creativity came to life, and his handmade creations brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Boudreau (Bernie Caissie) of Shediac; by his son, Daniel Bourque of Shediac; by his daughter-in-law, Dawn Bourque of Winnipeg, MB; by his grandchildren: Rémi (Nathalie), Mitchell and Renee; by his great grandchildren: Gérémi and Kallie, as well as many cousins.

He also was predeceased by his beloved son, Gilles Bourque in 2019.

A special thank-you to Annette, Janice, and to all the staff of 3F at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital for the excellent care given to Maurice and his family during his short stay.

Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, from 2 pm to 3:50 pm, followed by the service in the chapel at 4 pm.

Burial will take place in St-Jacques-le-Majeur Parish Cemetery, Scoudouc, NB.

In Maurice’s memory, a donation can be made to the St-Jacques-le-Majeur Parish Cemetery, Scoudouc.
