Maurice Richard
1950 - 2022

Maurice Richard, 72, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, at the Albert House Hospice, Moncton, NB.

Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the son of the late Roméo and the late Alice (Donelle) Richard.

Prior to retirement, M. Richard was salesman with Volkswagen Moncton. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing guitar and accordion and a game of tennis with his son, Serge.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Caroline (LeBlanc) Richard; his daughter, Brigitte Symington (Shane) of West Kelowna, BC; his son, Serge Richard (Josette Babineau) of Riverview; his grandchildren: Indiana and Trinity; his sisters: Thérèse (late Bill) of BC, Elizabeth (Sylvestre) of Moncton, Bernadette (Mike) of Oxford, NS and Violette (Wayne) of Toronto, ON; his brothers: Bernard (Aline) and Normand (late Edmire), both of Grande-Digue, Claude and Léo (Judy), both of Florida, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters: Claudette and Mona and by his brother, Alonzo.

Visitation will be held from Passage – Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, from 7 to 9 pm and also on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 11 am.

In Maurice’s memory, a donation can be made to the Albert House Hospice.

  2. Our thoughts are with the family. I had the pleasure of working with Maurice at Volkswagen Moncton. He was a great man to work with, loved by his many customers and was always so proud of his family. He will me missed.

  3. My memories of Maurice may be few as I was very young when we moved away, but they are of a warm and loving father of my sister’s best friend and husband of my mother’s best friend. I know I spent many hours with the Richard family as a child and I am so sorry to hear of Maurice’s passing. Sending love from my family to yours.

  5. The Richard’s were a second family to me in every way growing up. My childhood years were spend evenly between 2 households. During that time in my life, Maurice was like a second father to me. I will always remember him fondly. Sending love and strength to Carole, Brigitte and Serge. My heart breaks for you.

  9. An amazing man, full of life! I am glad I had the privilege of sharing time and many stories with him over the years! He had some great BBQ tips(charcoal) and I will never forget that great laugh! You will be missed!
