Merel Lanteigne
1931 ~ 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Merel Lanteigne, 92, on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born on Miscou Island, he was the son of the late Isaac and the late Georgina Lanteigne (Syvret).

Merel will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marie; his daughter, Joanne Powell (Cregg); his son, Claude Lanteigne (Angela) both of Fredericton; his two grandchildren: Melissa and Jesse; his three great grandchildren: Denali, Jayla, and Oakleigh; his brother, Livain Lanteigne of Miscou Island; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by nine brothers: Albert, Dogene, Aimé, Jean, Valmond, Ernest, Albini, Louis, and Odilon; as well as his sisters: Dora, Anita, and Mini.

Visitations will be held at Passage-Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe) on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, from 9:00am until 10:45am. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00am.

    I considered Merel a great friend, one of the best guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling a friend.
    The stories, meals, hunting escapades, some I might have been part of 🙂 The years we spent working together, the many, many laughs, all cherished memories that I speak of often.

    He will certainly be missed by all that had the privilege of meeting him.
