Moncton, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Edmund Hachey, 52, at his residence on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Born in Etobicoke, ON, he was the son of the late Peter Hachey and the late Donna Bush.
Michael will be sadly missed by his children: Lyndsay Hachey, Colton Hachey, Alyssa Noiles of Sackville; his grandson: Kingston Hachey; his stepfather: William “Bill” Hunter (Susan Paterson)of ON; his sisters: Jessica Hunter of Toronto, ON and Nancy Ward of Golf, ON; his aunt: Michelle Hicks (Cecil) of Amherst, NS; his uncle: Doyle Hachey (Sharon); his nephew: Derrik; his cousins and his former life partner and good friend: Edith Fournier of St-Philippe.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving paternal grandparents, whom he was close with: Maxine and Edmund Hachey.
There was never a dull moment with Mike in the room. He had a love for the Toronto Maple Leafs, music, making people laugh and most importantly his children. He was very excited to have been given his newest role as a grandfather. No matter the distance or amount of time between, you could always be sure that he would still be the same silly, smiling and singing Mike any time you visit. His memory will always live on through shared stories, laughs, pictures, and his children.
As Mike would say;
“It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock ‘n roll”
As per the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held in the chapel at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB E1A 1G1, (506) 857-1901, on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2pm. Burial will take place at Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Etobicoke, ON at a later date, where he will rest in peace with his family.
In memory of Michael, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.

I worked with Mike at On Target Transportation. I was the person he would give his paperwork to at the end of each run. We would always have a little chat each week and from those chats I know he loved his family. My heart goes out to his family & friends. Very sorry to hear of his passing!
