Moncton, NB– It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nellie Guthro, 85, on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Born in Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Gerard Arkens and the late Mary Arkens.
Nellie will be sadly missed by her sons: Peter Guthro, Tony Guthro (Donna), Darrell Guthro (Della), Danny McKay all of Moncton and Gerard Guthro of Ontario, ; her daughters: Brenda (Robert) Ayles and Tammy Guthro both of Moncton; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband, George MacDonald; her sister, Mary MacDonald; as well as her brothers: Gerard “Gerry” Arkens and Henry Oscar Arkens.
In respect to Nellie, there will be no visitation and no funeral service.

We love you so much nanny and will miss you with all our hearts. I’ll always remember all our days together especially walking to your house everyday during elementary school so you could cook us chicken noodle soup.
