Nelsie Gaudet

Nelsie Gaudet, 89, wife of the late William Gaudet (1980) of Dieppe, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 2, 2010. Born in Fitchburg, MA. on February 12, 1920. She was the daughter of the late John Blanchard of Caraquet and Sarah Gautreau of Barachois, NB.

She is survived by her eight daughters: Geneva (Leonard) Benoit, Simone (Peter) Elliott, Diane Savoy, Marie Bourgeois, Cecile (Albert) LeBlanc, Gloria (Louis) Gallant, Jeanne (Pat) Balcom and Linda Gaudet and one son, Alvin (Eileen) Gaudet, as well as her 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Robert (Wanda) Gaudet (2008) and Paul Gaudet (2007), and her grandson Allan (1988) and Thomas Gaudet (2006) and her special companion, Blair Doiron (2001).

Mom, Mémère, Grand-Mémère, friend and confidant always gave her time and love to all that knew her through her cooking, baking and sewing. Nelsie was known for her charming wit, honesty and unconditional love. Her devotion towards her family and many friends will be greatly missed. May the essence of who she was live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Chartersville Funereal Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe , NB on Tuesday January 5, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or donation of choice would be greatly appreciated. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Acadie Ave, Dieppe, NB on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11 am. Reception will follow at the Dieppe Golden Age Club, Acadia Ave, Dieppe.

À l’Hôpital Dr Georges-L. Dumont, entourée de sa famille, le samedi 2 janvier, 2010, à l’âge de 89 ans, est décédée paisiblement Nelsie Gaudet, domicilié à Dieppe, N.-B.

Née à Fitchburg, MA., le 12 février, 1920, elle était fille de feu John et de feu Sarah (née: Gautreau) Blanchard.

Elle laisse dans le deuil huit filles: Geneva (Leonard) Benoit, Simone (Peter) Elliott, Diane Savoy, Marie Bourgeois, Cecile (Albert) LeBlanc, Gloria (Louis) Gallant, Jeanne (Pat) Balcom et Linda Gaudet; un fils, Alvin (Eileen) Gaudet; une belle fille, Wanda Gaudet; 22 petits enfants ainsi que 28 arrière petits-enfants.
Son époux, Willie Gaudet en 1980; deux fils: Robert en 2008 et Paul en 2007; deux petits-fils: Allan en 1988 et Thomas en 2006 ainsi que son compagnon, Blair Doiron en 2001 l’ont précédée dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901) le mardi de 14 à 16 h et de 19h à 21h. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Ste-Thérèse, le mercredi 6 janvier, 2010 à 11h. L’inhumation au cimetière Notre-Dame-du Calvaire, Dieppe, N.-B. Au lieu de fleurs, un don à la famille où à une oeuvre de bienfaisance de votre choix serait apprécié.
