Shemogue, NB – Normand Goguen, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at what he called home, Twin Birch Lodge Home Care in Shemogue, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the son of the late Marcel and Rita (Léger) Goguen.
Normand will be missed by his friend, Monique Daigle of Enfield, NS; his son, Chris Goguen (Hélène) of Halifax, NS; his daughter, France LeBlanc (Ken) of Halifax NS; his three brothers, Bernie (Linda) of Fredericton, Désiré (Anita) of Moncton, NB and Jacques of Shemogue, NB; his two sisters, Rachel Goguen (late John Dewit) of Ladysmith, BC and Claire FitzPatrick (late Bill) of Grande-Digue, NB; his granddaughter, Esmée; Monique’s nephew, Adam Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Camille and Paul.
As per request, there will be no visitations and funeral service. A celebration of Normand’s life will be held at St. James Gate, Fox Creek, Dieppe on Tuesday, February 6th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. All are welcome to this casual gathering.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to express gratitude and thanks to all health and care professionals, relatives, friends and neighbours who with great empathy, generosity and time supported Normand during his long battle. The family finds solace from these compassionate acts.
