Norman Lavigne, 89, of Dieppe, passed away on Friday, September 7th, 2018, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Bathurst, NB, he was the son of the late David and the late Clara (née: Haché) Lavigne.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Lavigne was an electrician. He was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or and Saint-Anselme Parish.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeannette (née: LeBlanc); four daughters: Carmel (Angus Lefort) of Cheticamp, NS, Claire Lavigne of Ottawa, Charline Lavigne of Dieppe and Annette Curtis of Ottawa; one son, Luc of Moncton; two sisters: Cecile (late Verny) Young and Rita (late Lawrence) Legacy, both of Bathurst; three brothers: Arthur of Bathurst, John (Cathy) of Fredericton and Edgar (Lilianne) of Bathurst; five grandchildren: François, Hélène, Catherine, Kaitlyn and Jane; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Corinne and also by three brothers: Henry, Ben and Aurèle.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Monday from 9 am until time of departure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, on Monday, September 10th, 2018 at 11 am.
Interment in Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe.

Au centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, le vendredi 7 septembre 2018, à l’âge de 89 ans, est décédé Norman Lavigne. Il demeurait à Dieppe au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Né à Bathurst, N.-B., il était le fils de feu David et de feu Clara (née Haché) Lavigne.
Avant sa retraite, M Lavigne était électricien. Il était membre du Club d’Âge d’Or et de la paroisse Saint-Anselme.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse depuis 62 ans, Jeannette (née LeBlanc); quatres filles: Carmel (Angus Lefort) de Cheticamp, N.-É., Claire Lavigne d’Ottawa, Charline Lavigne de Dieppe et Annette Curtis d’Ottawa; un fils, Luc de Moncton; deux soeurs: Cécile (feu Verny) Young et Rita (feu Lawrence) Legacy, toutes deux de Bathurst; trois frères: Arthur de Bathurst, John (Cathy) de Frédericton et Edgar (Lilianne) de Bathurst; cinq petits-enfants: François, Hélène, Catherine, Kaitlyn et Jane; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Une sœur, Corinne ainsi que trois frères: Henry, Ben et Aurèle l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, (857-1901), le dimanche de 19h à 21h ainsi que le lundi de 9h jusqu’à l’heure du départ pour les funérailles.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, Dieppe, le lundi 10 septembre 2018, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au Cimetière Paroissial Saint-Anselme, Dieppe.
Un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont «Oncologie» serait apprécié par la famille.
