Norman Poirier

Cocagne, NB – Norman Poirier, 70, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Thursday, November 30, 2017, after a brief illness.

Born in Bronson, NB, he was the son of the late Antoine and Elizabeth (Godin) Poirier.

Norman liked to go hunting, fishing, quahog fishing. He worked in construction all his life.

Besides his mother, Norman will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Alice; his daughter, Nadine Douthwright (Shane) of Lutes Mountain; his two sons, Marc Poirier of Pointe-de-l’Église, NS, Daniel Poirier (Barbera) of Grand-Falls; his three sisters, Noëlla Landry (Late Laurie) of Bouctouche, Gladys Fontaine (Jerry) and Patsy McGrath (François) both of Notre-Dame; his brother, Rémi Poirier (Karen) of Scotch Settlement; his four precious grandchildren, Camden, Brooklyn, Jeannôt and Jérôme; also by several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and in-laws.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Jean.

Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation on Monday morning. Funeral service will be held at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne, on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11 am. A reception will follow at Centre 50 in Cocagne.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

We, the family would like to thank the staff at the ER and especially 3C dept. at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
