Moncton, NB (formerly of Scoudouc) – Normand Dionne, 88, passed away peacefully at the Veterans’ Health Centre in Moncton, on Sunday, October 23, 2022 just a couple days before his 89th birthday.
Normand loved nature, hunting, golf, family reunions, friends and he deeply loved his children and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Life had reunited him again with his childhood sweetheart, Murielle, his angel. He looked at her and we knew how deep this feeling was.
We will remember this wonderful dad as a man who had easy happiness and whose laughter was contagious. He was an excellent storyteller with whom one was never bored.
He joined the Canadian Air Force in 1953 and after a service of almost 20 years, he had a fine career as a mechanical engineer in civil aviation until his retirement. During his years at Quebecair and Conifair, his colleagues became lifelong friends.
Born in St-Hubert, QC, he was the son of the late Alfred and the late Emma Dionne (Goguen).
Normand will be deeply missed by his other half, whom he called his angel: Murielle Bourque; his children: Francine Dionne of Moncton, Denise (Jean-Guy LeBlanc) of Meadow Brook and Richard (JR) of Moncton; Murielle’s daughters: Charline and Denise Soucy; his brothers: Prudent (Alice) of Pugwash, NS, Valmont (Betty) of Halifax, NS, Eugène (Denise) of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC and Majella (Suzanne) of Scoudouc; his sisters: Virginie Dionne of Shediac and Célénir Alexander (Rick) of Ottawa, ON; his sister-in-law: Helen Dionne of Moncton; his grandchildren: Samuel Lambert (Gabrielle), Michel LeBlanc (Sophie), Lydianne Lambert, Stéphanie LeBlanc (Jean-Bernard), Chantal Cormier (Marco), Jérémie Lambert (Gowritha); his great grandchildren: Kenny Will, Noémie, Mathys, Ariel, Jacob, Alexis, Lexie, Philippe, Future Baby Cormier; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the mother of his children: Micheline “Mimi” St-Germain; brothers: Daniel, Alfred Jr. (late Jacqueline); his sister: Murielle (late Lorenzo).
Visitations will be held at Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, 506.532.1050, on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 7pm to 9pm and on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 9:30am until 10:20am. Funeral mass will be held on the same day at Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur RC Church in Scoudouc at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
