It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Omer Allain, 76, on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche.
Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Théophile and the late Zeph-Annette Allain (Bastarache).
Omer will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Annette; his three daughters: Chantale Albert (Reggie) of Bouctouche, Sylvie LeBlanc (Jean) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, and Lise Allain of Bouctouche; his six grandchildren: Natacha Leger (Daniel), Jeremy LeBlanc (Monica),Vickie Albert (Nicholas), Roxanne Albert (Alex), Tyler Allain (Emma), and Yanick LeBlanc (Marie-Pier); his great grandson, Landon; his brothers: Jean-Noël Allain (Claudette) of Bouctouche Cove, Roger Allain (Tina) of Dieppe, Laurie Allain (Janice) of Bouctouche, and Elmer Allain (Anna), who felt like an additional brother for Omer, of Moncton; his sisters: Lucie LeBlanc (Fernand Caissie) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Gloria Bastarache (Raymond) of Saint-Maurice, Phyllis Cormier (Victor) of Bouctouche, and Lisa Allain (Jill Tremblay) of Ontario; his aunt, Ella Allain of Ontario; his godson, Claude Cormier; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Omer was a soft-spoken man with a huge heart who was always willing to help anyone in need. “No” was simply not in his vocabulary. His wife would often say that the secret to their long and happy marriage was that Omer always said “yes.” He was deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends, as well as by the entire community. His kindness, generosity, and warm spirit touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Omer was an avid sportsman who enjoyed and excelled at many sports, including hockey, golf, and softball. He was, above all, a devoted hockey fan, cheering on the Streamers and JC’s until the end. He also generously gave his time to the community, volunteering as a referee and helping with bingo and the canteen at Kent Homes. As an electrician, Omer never watched the clock. He was always available whenever someone needed his help, no matter the time of day.
Visitations will be held at Passage – Maillet (29 l’Église Street, Bouctouche) on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, from 4:00pm until 6:45pm. A funeral service will be held at Saint-Jean Baptiste RC Church (19 Irving Blvd, Bouctouche) at 7:00pm.
Donations in memory of Omer can be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste or to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
