Omer Cormier, 100, of Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche and formerly of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Manoir on Thursday August 17, 2023. He was married to the late Noëlla (Cormier) Cormier (2022). Born in Leominster, MA, he was the son of the late Clétus and the late Exelda (Arsenault) Cormier.
He will be sadly missed by his eight children; Jeannette Richard (late Aquilla) of Pointe-Sapin, Denise Pellerin (André), Anise Belliveau (late Charles) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Gloria LeBlanc (Gerald) of Calgary, Eric, Ariste (Claudette), Paul of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Guy (Paulette) of Saint-Louis and one daughter-in-law; Noëlla Cormier of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, his ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn one brother; Laurie of Pittsfield, MA, two sisters-in-law; Helene Cormier of Bouctouche and Yvonne McDonald of Saint-Antoine as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one son; Raymond (2017), one sister; Sr Bernice Cormier ndsc and six brothers; Norman, Alcide, Valerie, Euclide, Léopold and Roméo.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Monday August 21, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sainte-Marie-de-Kent Church on Monday August 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
In Omer’s memory donations may be made to the Sainte-Marie-de-Kent Parish fund.
