Moncton, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Oscar LeBlanc, 97, that occurred on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born in Cormier’s Cove on April 7th, 1927, he was the son of the late Simeon LeBlanc and the late Elise (Cormier) LeBlanc.

Before his retirement, Oscar worked at CNR as a Carmen. He was also a honorary member of the Knights of Columbus for Council #1310.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Aurore (née: Arseneault); his two daughters: Bertha (Thomas) Darling, and Mona (Pete) Kelly both of Moncton; six grandchildren: Mathieu, Jeremie, Richard, Tanya, Kris, and Bryan; three great grandchildren: Benjamin, Mikel, and Isabelle; his sister, Annette (late Freddy) Auffrey of Dieppe; his daughter-in-law, Paulette; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Monique; his son, Andy; as well as his siblings: Bertha, Dan, Eugene, Armand, and Paul-Emile.

There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held from the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church, Moncton, on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at 1 pm.

In memory of Oscar, a donation can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

  3. Deepest condolences to the family! He was a great neighbour and a wonderful Dad. When Bertha and I were kids we loved that he worked shift work. When he was off in the daytime he took us often to Parlee Beach and she and I would literally stay in the water for hours. Such a beautiful family!!   12. Met this great man and his wonderful family when we moved to Sunny Brae back in 1966. He appeared to have a perfect life. Loving husband , father and all around great person. Having lived an exemplary life may he now reap all the well deserved blessings. Our deepest condolences to the family.
