Grand-Barachois, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ovide Joseph Brun, 79, on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Maison Albert House Hospice SENB, in Moncton, NB. Born in Grand-Barachois, NB, he was the beloved son of the late Alphonse and the late Cecile (Arsenault) Brun.
Ovide was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra (Sandy/Tootsie) Ann (Weber), of Kitchener, ON, as well as his brother, Gerald.
Ovide spent his career as a dedicated welder at CN and later worked at the Pine Needles Golf Course in Haute-Aboujagane, NB, before his retirement.
Ovide will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted common-law spouse, Joan Christie; his children, Nicole (Kevin) of Moncton, David (Maria) of Memramcook, and Curtis (Lindsay) of Fall River, NS; and his treasured grandchildren: Avery, who fondly called him “Papoo”, and Anabel, her dear “Pépére”.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Léon (Yvette), Jean-Guy (Dolorès), Rhéal (Dorilla), Raymond (Murielle), Paul (Nicole), Phillippe (Doris), Alphonsine (Léo Léger), Jeannine, Yvette (Roger Gauvin) and Marie (Peggy Connors), and well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ovide and Joan were inseparable companions who found great joy in simple pleasures together, from quiet mornings to lively family gatherings filled with laughter. Their love for adventure was contagious and filled our lives with unforgettable memories. Whether Ovide was planning the next road trip with Joan or tinkering away on a new project with his sons, his hands and heart were always busy building memories that will last a lifetime. Those evenings spent singing favourite tunes in karaoke with his daughter are treasures she will forever hold close—each note a reminder of his joy, laughter, and the boundless love he shared with us all. Ovide’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends will always be remembered. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his gentle spirit and generous heart.
Respecting Ovide’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service.Burial will take place in St-Henri Parish cemetery, Grand-Barachois, NB, at a later date.
If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Maison Albert House Hospice SENB or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

All my deepest sympathies to all family and friends I had not seen him in years and this past summer saw him outside his house with family and friends and spoke wirh them all for a few minutes he was in my class at school and always so nice never to be forgotten so sorry for your loss
