Paul-Emile Leger, 74, of Pointe-du-Chêne and formerly of Gaspé St., Dieppe, NB, passed away on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center.
Born in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of the late Henry and the late Alice (née: Hebert) Leger.
Prior to retirement, Paul-Emile had been employed as a firefighter for the City of Dieppe, with over 32 years of service. He was a member of the Fire Fighters Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Lise (Louis) Ringuette of Grand-Falls; two sons: Christopher (Judy) and Eugene (Ann), both of Dieppe; three sisters: Rachel (Laurie) Melanson of Holliston, Mass, Lucille (Roger) Babin of Shediac and Anne-Marie (Ovila) LeBlanc of Waltham, Mass; one brother, Harvey (Olive) of Greater Lakeburn; two sisters-in-law: Annette Leger of Waltham, Mass and Rose Leger of Moncton; ten grandchildren: Tommy, Nancy, Tiffany, Elissa, Sasha, Karl, Tanya, Christopher, Natasha and Ashley; nine great grandchildren: Craig, Austin, Morgan, Grayden, Serina, Julie, Faith, Nathyana, Natisha, the much anticipated Carter, arriving in one month, as well as several nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart. He will also be missed by his faithful companion Patches.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne in 2012 and also by two brothers: Robert and Donald.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral service will be celebrated from Ste Therese Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Monday, May 5th, 2014 at 11 am.
Interment at the Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Dieppe, N.-B., il était fils de feu Henry et de feu Alice (née Hebert) Leger.
Avant sa retraite, Paul-Emile avait travaillé comme pompier à la Ville de Dieppe pour plus de 32 ans. Il était membre de l’Association de Pompiers.
Il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Lise (Louis) Ringuette de Grand-Sault; deux fils: Christopher (Judy) et Eugene (Ann), tous deux de Dieppe; trois sœurs: Rachel (Laurie) Melanson de Holliston, Mass, Lucille (Roger) Babin de Shediac et Anne-Marie (Ovila) LeBlanc de Waltham, Mass; un frère, Harvey (Olive) de Greater Lakeburn; deux belles-soeurs: Annette Leger de Waltham, Mass et Rose Leger de Moncton; dix petits-enfants: Tommy, Nancy, Tiffany, Elissa, Sasha, Karl, Tanya, Christopher, Natasha et Ashley; neuf arrière petits-enfants: Craig, Austin, Morgan, Grayden, Serina, Julie, Faith, Nathyana, Natisha, et le très anticipé Carter, attendu dans un mois, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces qu’il tenait à coeur. Il sera aussi manqué par son compagnon fidèle, son chien, Patches.
Outre ses parents, son épouse, Yvonne en 2012 ainsi que deux frères: Robert et Donald l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le dimanche de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Ste Thérèse, Dieppe, N.-B., le lundi 5 mai, 2014 à 11 h.
L’inhumation se fera au colombaire de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, Dieppe, N.-B.
Un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont serait apprécié par la famille.
