In Loving Memory Of
Paulette (Bourque) Duke
1958 ~ 2024

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, on April 30, 2024, at the age of 65, Paulette (Bourque) Duke passed away surrounded by her family. Originally from Cocagne, Paulette lived in Fredericton.

Besides her dear husband Richard, Paulette will be sadly missed by her sons Johnathan (Kylie) and Samuel (Angie), her grand-children Zoë and Bo, her mother Ida, her father Alcide and her brothers Terry (Denise) and Michel (Gary). She also leaves to mourn her sisters-in-law Janice and Judy, her brother-in-law Kenneth, her aunts Maria, Albertine, Dorina and Louise, her uncles Armand and Armand, her nieces Melissa, Sylvie, Emma and Natalie, her nephew Thomas Jr., her grand-nieces Odalie, Saralie and Elena, her grand-nephews Thomas and Harvey as well as many cousins.

Paulette was loved by everyone who knew her. She was funny, creative, generous, hard-working and, above all, very caring. In addition to having been a dedicated public servant, she sang, played the guitar and composed beautiful songs. She loved life, her family, her friends, and her neighbours. Her loved ones all agree: Paulette was more than perfect!

A celebration of life for Paulette will take place at Passage in Shediac Bridge on May 5, 2024 (when we would have celebrated Paulette’s 66th birthday), from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. As Paulette wanted, the celebration will be informal. For instance, to respect Paulette’s wishes, the family will not receive condolences in a formal line. To pay tribute to Paulette, only a few official words will be spoken and the get-together will be mainly about giving everyone the chance to see and support each other while sharing memories they have of our beloved Paulette.

In memory of Paulette, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice. The family invites you to sign an online book of condolences at:

The burial will take place at a later date at the Saint-Pierre-de-Cocagne cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Passage Funeral Co-operative, 3754, Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB  E4R 1T3 (506) 532-1050.

She was “at her post” every Sunday morning to greet families and children on their way to catechism classes. All who served with her will be left with fond memories of this joyful lady behind the desk in the children’s main gathering room. She rests in God’s loving care. 36. My heartfelt condolences to Paulette’s family. I am a colleague of Paulette’s in Newfoundland and Labrador. I had many interactions with Paulette by distance over the years. While her knowledge was unparalleled with respect to the case management electronic filing program we use at Correctional Service Canada, it was always her kindness and sweet disposition that struck me. Whenever I had a question, a need, or made a mistake about which she had to correct me, Paulette was always approachable, responsive, and helpful. I am truly saddened to hear of her passing.
