In Loving Memory Of
Pierre André Thibert
1943 ~ 2026

On September 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, at the age of 83, Pierre André Thibert, husband of Noëlla Bordage, passed away peacefully. Born on January 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Alfred and Agnès Thibert of Gatineau (Quebec). He resided in Dieppe.

He leaves to mourn his wife Noëlla Bordage, his sons André of Spencerville (Ontario) and Marc of Bass River (N.B.), his grandchildren Claude (Natalie) and Zoé (Wyatt), his great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Crew, his biological family, namely his half-sister Diane Pommier and his sister-in-law Myreille Girouard-Pommier of Gatineau (Quebec), the mother of his sons Muriel Thibert, as well as several cousins in Quebec, the Bordage family and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Agnès Thibert, his grandson Michel, his biological mother Rolande Pommier and his biological brother Claude Pommier.

Pierre was always a great car enthusiast. He worked for about twenty years in the automotive industry in Gatineau as a sales representative and general manager. He was very proud to own a black 1968 GTX. In New Brunswick, he successively owned a men’s clothing store called Milano and a tomato-growing business. Toward the end of his career, he managed the family translation business. In addition, for many years, he was a member of Downtown Moncton and the Richelieu Club, serving as president of the latter. He represented the Moncton Richelieu Club at a convention in Nice, France.

Pierre was a passionate collector of miniature cars and works of art, especially by local artists. With his wife, he travelled extensively throughout Canada and Europe. This great wine and scotch enthusiast also enjoyed following political news, which often outraged him. The survival of the French language and culture was constantly on his mind.

The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Oncology Centre and Unit D of the Dr. G.-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre for their dedication and excellent care, especially Dr. Mario Saulnier, Susan, Émilie, Marthe and Fanny.

A donation to the Tree of Hope to support the fight against cancer or to Harvest House, an emergency shelter, would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Passage-Chartersville Funeral Home in Dieppe. A celebration of his life will take place there on October 31 at 11 a.m. preceded by a visitation period starting at 9:30 a.m.

The family invites you to sign a book of condolences at: www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca.

  2. My deepest condolences to your family,
Pierre was a great friend of Mike Macdonald and they could talk for hours about cars.
I think they are both now in heaven, talking about their love for cars and racing and family.
We miss them, but they are always with us.

  7. I was saddened to hear of Pierre’s passing, but I can’t help but smile thinking of the man that I knew as M. Thibert. From the moment I met him at his Bédard st apartment, I knew he was not like other Dads. He spoke to me as an adult and he trusted teenagers to jokey his Montréal purchased cars back to Ottawa. Imagine being a 16 yr old punk being not only trusted with his vehicles, but being paid to drive them. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Marc, André and Noëlla as well as any who mourn this special man.

  8. Gale and I are saddened to hear of Pierre’s passing. We were very good friends that happened to be family. Pierre was my brother in law and we shared many hours snowmobiling, time at the cottage, he and friends helped us erect our first log house at Little Picky in Lapasse Ontario. He also introduced me to 1970 ‘s muscle cars , I even beat him in a 1/4 mile race with my 340 swinger , even faster than his Road runner .
Rest in peace Pete , you leave me with a ton of great memories.
