Dieppe, N.-B – It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Pierre “Pete” Dallaire at the age of 80, on August 2nd, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Augustin and the late Evangeline (Boudreau) Dallaire.

Pete worked at Université de Moncton as sport equipment manager and J. Louis Levesque arena until his retirement.

A devoted, pleasant, calm, helping and believer, he loved people and people loved him. He loved to laugh. A natural athlete, he played many sports… golf, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, etc.

He will be missed and mourned by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine, his daughter, Lyne of Dieppe, his son, Charles, his daughter in law, Leanne and his precious granddaughters Sophie and Lucie of Barrie Ontario, his two brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Deny (March 2023), a sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be held from Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901) on Sunday, August 6th, from 2 to 4 pm only. A celebration of Pete’s life will be held from the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 7th, at 11 am.

A sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff in Surgical Intensive Care at the CHU Dumont Hospital for their super care and compassion. 

Donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Moncton Albert House, or to the donor’s choice.

  4. I’ll always remember Pete as a pleasant and gentle spirit with an infectious laugh, While visiting family in Canada as a kid, I attended some of his softball games under the lights in Saint Joseph. Those are good memories. Rest in Peace Pete.

Perhaps there is some consolation knowing that he is in heaven, reunited with all his loved ones, even playing a round of golf together.
