  8. I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Peter’s wife Edwina and his family. Peter was a close friend and colleague on both the Gloucester & Ottawa Fire Departments. Peter will be remembered as one who always took his job seriously, and acted with integrity and the highest level of professionalism in every role he played in the Fire Service. He expected a lot from those under his charge, and led by example at every turn. Consequently, he earned the respect and admiration of everyone that worked with, and around him. At a personal level, he was highly intelligent, sharp witted with a wonderful sense of humour. Peter was fun to be around in any situation. If you were drawn into a debate with him, he would often get you with his trademark humorous response (he would refer to those as his zingers), which resulted in deep laughter from all within earshot. To those who knew him well, the most important thing in his life by far was his wife Edwina. He often spoke of how special Edwina was, and marveled at all the things she could do … including beating Peter at golf. Peter will never be forgotten, and our thoughts will always be with Edwina and family.
