In Loving Memory Of
Rachel Gautreau
1926 - 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rachel (Bergeron) Gautreau, formerly of Moncton, on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the “Résidences Mgr Chiasson” in Shippagan, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband, Tilmon Gautreau.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Diane (Paul-Émile Benoit) of Moncton, Hélène (Jean-Yves Daigle) of Shippagan, Louis of Bouctouche, Claire of Moncton and Marc (Tammy Ring) of Saint-Antoine. She will also be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren: Simon, Martin (Katriya), Geneviève, Guillaume, Marianne, Isabelle, Stéphane, Jean-Luc and her great grandson, Francis. She is also survived by one sister, Rolande Lessard of Quebec; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Born in Port-Alfred, Quebec, she was the youngest of 10 children born to Eugène Bergeron and Léda Gauthier.

Always full of spirit, Rachel volunteered for many years at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in the Oncology Centre. Besides cooking, which she was passionate about, her hobbies were golf, bowling, and bridge. She enjoyed reading very much.

The family is profoundly grateful to the staff at the “Résidences Mgr Chiasson” for their warm welcome and exceptional quality of care, which Rachel appreciated very much.

Visitations will take place at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (506) 857-1901, on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Please note that there will be no visits on Friday morning.

The funeral mass will be held at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11 am.
